Plans for holidaz and industry job
And the Electrical course! uhh... One course which made my life miserable. Nothing to learn! Only to suffer. And such an idiotic instructor! God save me! I have decided to leave that course as it is. I'll give only one try on sat. Do hell with the grade. I will not suffer anymore. Course wise Chem is a good one but the bloddy instructor. As a part of expressing out our frustration , we are, apart form using loving words for him, these days, thinking of noble ways to take revenge on him. Some of which are making blank calls at his home in night (dat 1 is difficult coz he has caller ID), submitting his work email ID in the porn sites so that he gets loads of spams in his mail box.
The holiday plan. Befor going for trip on 6th and after my last exam on 1st, I'll have almost 5 days. Made some plans to utilize those days. I'll try to study Data Structures with CSE guys having exams on 4rt. Read old and new editions of the Better Photography magzine. Read all the editorials of Hindu that I've missed. Try to look for good books on Indian Philosophy in the lib. Apart from all this lots of chatting orkutting and blogging.
Industry. Industry had never fascinated me. In the morning discussed this with Asif and Shadab both of whom want industry job. I very clearly put ma point . I will never love a job in industry. All this hectic shedule is going to kill me. There you have no life left for yourself. You are dedicated to your boss. Moreover, you need to do lot of fake things, things which have no meanings and no substance. Just to show your boss that you are the one. Show off is not a part of Saucy. I never said the it is a mean/wrong jog and nobody should do such things. It's just the matter of loving. If any of you love to do then you wil do that. I will not choose that!
Found an excellent qoute on somebody's blog: Nobody is Virgin. Life fucks everyone!. Started reading some other people's blog One a girl named Lakshmi. She also writes about her life in an interesting way.
It is bout 2:30 now. Most probably Im going to miss tomorrow's morning thermo tutorial also.

Bhatia's Testimonial under construction...
When I first saw him I was dazed! What is this football like thing! Latter I came to know ki Bhatia ji jitna zamin ke uper hai utna hi niche bhi. Don't go on size! (Now he has improved his aspect ratio [])
Being with this guy past 3 years I've known him inside out. A guy with unbelievable capacity to learn, unbelievable capacity to work, and with unbelievable wicked ideas to tease anyone. His whole body is composed of gray matter. He is kind of guy who can defeat his coach in just anything.
I can never forget him once saying this funny line "Mai to co-ed ke naam pe dhabba hu".
We share lots of lots common and less of contradicting thinking about all aspect and all issues of life. Of late we discovered we both are in similar quarter-life-crisis.
Rest of the day was good in terms of exam preparations. Studied decent amount of stuffs. Some Physical Chem. and wave equations in maths. That's all!

no title
On the road. While I was on my way to lecture hall on my cycle, just before the gate, in a hurry mood, with the fresh laziness of the morning, ready to be assaulted by proffessors, was just about to crash in some object. Object identified! Another man with gray hairs and matching once- white kurta- payjama, on his cycle. It was my fault for this apparent crash. So normally I would expect a person whom I have never been aquainted to give a killing stare oo a moderately loud murmer or some abuses. But this man was not upto the expectations. The reaction was just opposite. Smile! He gave me a broader than broad smile and passed on! I would have neglected the event owing to the length of time it occured and all the wild thoughts of exams running through my head. But mind you people this not something you encounter everyday. He would have got one tenth of a second to make his neuron cells click. Even the first response of the humblest of person would have have been a stare. But why does this man reacted so differently? What must be the reason? Let us explore.
Was he God that he controlled his response to stimulus so well? Every person is a hybridisation of God and Evil. But being God would mean 100% God character which voilates all phisical, chemical, spiritual,.. laws. It is quite possible that just before this accident he had encountered something that granted his long - wished wish. And sunshined by that happiness he was able to give such a response. Or he might have seen his lost loved one in me that he couldn't help but smile.
Whatever the reason may be, it was an unforgetable and a rare event for me. It is for that reason that I have so much to describe for that one second
Shadab again. Still trying to prove that he is even greater shit. He boasts that he is able to flirt a proff's daughter. Chats with her all day Makes fool of her. Tells all kind of lies. Makes her fight with her friends. And these foolish girl leave their genuine friends for such bastered. And the bastered taking it as a credit to him that he is able to do such rubbish thing.
Orkut Fortune: When winter comes heaven will rain success on you
Let us see what type of rain is it. Success! Is that what we strive for? Because it gives happiness? Or it is happiness that we strive for? Second argument seems more appealing

Internship?
Day with Mom and dad
Had dinner in the VH mess. Aah! As good as angel compared to our hostel mess food-- daemon. Chatting with mom till 10:30. Then they were to sleep when I left with the woolen cloths bag.
Next day they came at nine when I was sleeping. After they left, I had a long chat on Ymsngr with - the girl who met on orkut. She is much like me, complicates thing and "a gr8 thinker". here is the chat session:

A project can’t be considered as finished until we say thanks to everyone who has contributed to our project. We would like to thank our instructor Dr. N. Venkata Reddy for giving us the opportunity of a project. We also express our gratitude to our tutor Mr. K.K.Kar who helped us at every stage of the project with his valuable suggestions and support.I would also like to thank Mr.Nafe Singh for his help.
Last but not the least, we are very much thankful to all the staff and guides who not only helped us in the project but also trained us in various skills and supported us in various types of experiments. Without them, it would be impossible to complete the project.
Objective
To make a mechanical multiplier to multiply two numbers showing the working of a new type of gear box.
Motivation
Before the advent of electronic computers, the complicated calculations were carried out through means of mechanical computers, the main components of which were- the adder and the multiplier. The component that we built serves as a prototype for “The multiplier”. The same principle is extended to countless mechanical devices which serve as force multiplier or displacement multiplier. The motivation to build the machine came from understanding this vital feature of worldwide used machines.
Working Principle
The working principle of the project is based on the working of a typical ‘Gear Box’. Gearbox is defined as a metal casing in which a train of gears is sealed. Gearbox is also called gear head, gear reducers or speed reducers. Their job is to convert the input provided by a prime mover into an output of lower RPM and correspondingly, higher torque. Therefore they use the ratio of gear teeth to vary the output rpm.
Device Description
This device uses the principle working of a gear box and does multiplication. In this device a 60 teeth gear acts as the driving gear where we decide the 1st input value which is displayed on a wheel attached on the same shaft. The other shaft has three gears attached on it, they have teeth number 30,20 and 15. These gears decide the number of times we want to multiply the 1st input value. As the input wheel is turned the number of divisions equal to the value of 1st input the driving gear drives the driven gear the number of degrees depending on the gear ratio. The display of output is done through using a partial gear attached on the same shaft on which the gear system is attached, this partial gear helps in displaying the tens place. What it does is it rotates the wheel on the other shaft through one division when the 1st shaft is rotated by 10 divisions thus on every one complete rotation the wheel on the tens rotates by one division, this is how the output is displayed.
DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPONENTS
Sr. No. | Name of Component | Dimensions of Component | Material of Component | Manufacturing Process Used | Number of Pieces |
1 | Spur Gear | Dia. = 93mm | Mild Steel | Turning and Milling | 1 |
2 | Spur Gear | Dia. = 48mm | Mild Steel | Turning and Milling | 2 |
3 | Partial Spur Gear(3 Teeth) | Dia. = 48mm | Mild Steel | Turning and Milling | 1 |
4 | Spur Gear | Dia. = 33mm | Mild Steel | Turning and Milling | 1 |
5 | Spur Gear | Dia. = 25.5mm | Mild Steel | Turning and Milling | 1 |
6 | Wheel | Dia. = 48mm | Mild Steel | Turning | 2 |
7 | Wheel | Dia. = 90mm | Mild Steel | Turning | 1 |
8 | Shaft Rods | Dia.= 16mm | Mild Steel | Cutting | 3 |
9 | Sheet | 408x190x8mm | Mild Steel | Cutting | 1 |
10 | Sheet | 150x120x3mm | Mild Steel | Cutting | 2 |
11 | Spring | Length = 150mm | Spring Wire | ---- | 1 |
12 | Angle | 40x40x6mm | Mild Steel | Drilling | 3 |
13 | Flat | 80x50x6mm | Mild Steel | Drilling and Cutting | 3 |
14 | Pipe | Dia.= 20mm | Cast Iron | ---- | 1 |
15 | Nut and Bolt | ¼” | Iron | ---- | 18 |
16 | Rod | Dia.= 8mm | Mild Steel | Bending | 3 |
Difficulties Faced
- The gear ratio used to convert 10 units in the ones place to tens place was difficult to achieve as the gears turned more than the desired angle.
- We needed gear ratio varying from 0.5 to 5 which was not possible because no. of teeth in a gear which can be made in lab is limited.
- As the spring wire available in the lab was very stiff, the spring constant of the spring we made was very high, so we had to use long spring.
“K is proportional to 1/L”
Possible Modifications
- The device can be scaled down to much smaller size.
- The no. of digits of input can be increased, keeping the no of gears constant.
- The no. of digits of multiplication can be further increased by increasing the no of gears.
- By using a more sophisticated method, the way of changing the gears can be aptly modified.

IITB Tech fest
But for programming?
Kush told me that he had alrwady teamed up Aman andd with Ashish Bhatia and Piyush. Ohh! Again a setback Do I take this as omens from God to tell me that Inow is the time to decide priorities and leave this programming thing but that's something I love to do. They left me out [:(]. But its going to be that way. Even I accept that apparently the team of four is better without me. It would have been difficult to make a place for me in spite of the fact that I had taken part in many competitions with Aman and Kush. Now I have two options.
1) Leave the thing and concentrate on my IAS preparations.
2) Do the above thing and keep this as my hobby and try to prove those friends that in reallity the team without me was only apparently better.
Lets see what life has in for me.....
Quizzes: Chem quiz today was an easy one. Cracked it! Thermo and maths quiz on friday. Preparations for them are on. Still having feeble headaches. Feeling sleepy all the time. Sleeping around 9 hrs per day. Overall not in best of my health these days. Took the first Disprin of my life and now going to take the second!

Old friends
TA 201 lab sucks!
The casting pattern which we made over days. It ate hours of our time and hard work. Destroyed in the lab. The lab people poured less metal in the mold and the whole pattern gone in 60 seconds.
We sat last night for 5 and half hrs. and half ade a new pattern. Hope this is the final one.
Rest of the day classes and lab. Nothing interesting.
Today is Mathr's B'Day. Really missing his treat.

Exams!
1) Taking pics all around
2) Myself not able to take part in fashion photography competition
3) Camera wrecked
Slowly coming to usual life of IITK. Lecture, quizzes, labs, lab-reports, exams, courses, proffs, grades, CPI......
One more suicide from IITK. This time a M.Tech. guy from Hall-4. I don't know what's happening here.
End-sems from 27th. Nothing much to write. Less happenings in life now. Exams coming so less postings. And that ends all I have for now.

A Spoiled Day 4!
After lunch in the mess, came to CC. Only blogging whole day. Less of Antaragni. Decided to go to Kavi Sammelan and may be Euphoria at night. Lab reports due tomorrow. Gota complete them also.
****! Just now as I am writing his post Ankur came with basanti and her friend akanksha. All three of them sitting behind me on comps. Gota complete the Karma Theory post.
The HSS course Request for next sem is open now. the only philosophy course offered is PHI143 - Introduction to Ethical Theory. Option list goes like this.
1) Introduction to Ethical Theory
2) Microeconomics - 1
3) PSY 151- Introduction to Psychology
4) Sociology
5) English Literature
6) ART- Western Art
If Im lucky enough I'll get my first choice. Can't afford to loose this course. Rest of the day to come. Will be writing soon.
Returning from CC, slept from 5:30 . Got up at 8:00. Had a maggi in canteen. No dinnerr me. It was none of Antaragni left for me. Missed the Kavi-sammelan and Euphoria too.
The HSS course next sem is going to be exciting for me.

Day 3
Now to L7. An ediotic mime play was going on. From the other side entrance of L7 I could here a soft voice and music of guitar. A girl practicing for the western musicals. From the half opened door I could see her face, a little tensed, with hair-locks over it and the upper long portion of her brown colour guiter. Sitting on the space just outside the door from where the staircase start. Leaning over her guitar. Her other belonging were a black colour Tata Indicom cellphone, which she used as watch, and a scribbled sheet of paper. In the background was a tree with fallen leave and behind that I can see the library building in contrast to her beautiful face. All this was making such excellent shot that I couldn't resist myself from taking her snaps. Huh. But I sort of spoiled the photograph. I think the shutter speed was low giving a much bright and blurred image. The background being highly illuminated by Sun appeared bright and the main content of photo was in shade. Had I composed the focus in the background, then it would have given a dark portion in the main content. The only option was a smaller depth which means higher F number. Means I had to get close to her. Thus disturbing her and spoiling the mood of the photo.
Latter when I showed the pic to her and her comment was: "Bahut kharaab lag rahi hu mai." My God! Ab kitni achhi lagogi? I don't know why all the girls tend to react like this on seeing their photograph. The girl was from some DU college. Wish I could send her the link to this post.
Also shot the fallen tree.
To hostel after taking snaps of India Inspired event. Sorting the photograph to get the best 10 from it. While doing this I realised that I had not mae a great collection, not even decent.
To SAC for submitting the pics. Haven't done a good job this time. After dinner went for the Bandish performance. That was hopeless. The guy shouted cheers to IIT after every song. After that was the ritambhara- the fashion show. I was too exausted to attend any function now. Earlier Kala has asked for my cam to take pics in the internal round. Refusing him was a difficult task for me. Its not him sying anything but I don't know why When Im refusing something when someone, and that too so close to me, asked for it I feel like guilty. I feel like refusing help. Now if I repeat the guilt that would be enough to disturb me so much so to keep me from sleeping that night. Stayed back at hostel. The camera was taken over by Aditya and God knows what this man has done to it, it got horrible stuck. My digi-cam went mad. Now no photography on last day of Antaragni. Nothing to do. I guess the tittle of neat post would be "A spoiled day 4".
Other Incidents:
1) Returning from Audi, heard a group consisting mostly girls singing BC Sutta! Surprised! The fact that it was common in girls too was known to me, but singing loudly on road is a different thing, even if they were boys.
2) Surprised by a scrap on orkut: Pushpa: Hi! liked your comment on how to enjoy solitude...Kind of me...I do try that..
Camera Fucked!
Camera got fucked very badly. Came from Bandish show and gave the camera to Kala to cover ritambhara. He passed it on to Aditya and he came back to hostel with lens out and no display on screen. It is hanged on in this condition. On pressing the power button it gives a horrible beep sound. Don't know what will happen to it. May be I can get it repaired.
Now all lost. No coverage of last day or antaragni. No coverage nothing anywhere. no lab report copying. No funny pics in the wing. No nature photography. No instant photo. No potrait photography.

Day 2
Ready for the Day-2. Bathed and Hanuman prayer, as very usual. Taken the breakfast, as little less usual. Decided to take part in a competition, as unusual!
In for Rangoli competition with 3 other wingmates at TB. Copied a Rangoli figure from flickr.com. Pretty satisfied with our performance coz we were not the worst! This is what we made.
Then othe events I saw were Nukad and the word game competition by ELS. Now in SAC. The situation ws dramatised when we decided to write in a qute of the day competition. The theme was Is love worth it? A vast topic indeed. Bet I can spend nights thinking on it. But writing a quote was not possible for me. Kush bhai wrote something: Worth of love is double the worth of a person.
Now concering my newly developed passion, went to Photography desk and got myself registered. Got to know that, if you don't have your own subject you need to photograph on the same night on any damn subject they give us. But the biggest problem was the subject. A female subject would no doubt be preferable. Reasons - female beauty is more appealing, all the tutorials on net imply mostly to female subject, more sample ideas on flickr.com are of female models and it would be a fon But where to get her. I had already talked to Asif last night for a model and he had said that he may try for one of her friends.
Coming back to hostel, read some more tutorial on fashion photography and studio lighting. Now chated with Asif if he can get the JSS girl as my subject. Talking to her, she agreed. We dicided to go and talk to her in the audi.
Next, in the audi grounds stumbling here and there for entry for awaited rock night with Asif. In the way Asif told me to keep looking for he girl - Inesha (I think I got it correct this time). While waiting in the queue (something I abhore) looking for the girl, horses of imagination speeding up. Somehow it appeared to me that she will come on the road, ridding on a horse-cart and I have to catch her in between. Situation parallel to basanti ridding on dhanno! The queue was in. But basanti never came. Stumbled from one gate to other, but couldn't find her.
Now the rock music and nothing else for next three hours. But still looking for basanti. Asking Asif: yaar basanti ka kya hua? Parikrama was awesome. The one on Vocals was rocking. Got some nice shot from my cam.
After the show, at last I caught basanti. But the response was as cold as ever. I asked about her shedule for tomorrow but she was very diplomatic in answering that (you see. that is why women are better politicians than men). Even I heard her saying: leave it yaar. Now see my answer to this: "Yaar mai tumhe force nahi kar raha, lekin take it that it will be a setback for me." Now people take meaning of setback whatever you want. I said to Asif bahi " Yaar Asif, Basanti to bhaav khaa rahi thi. Kya kare yaar apna time hi kharaab chal raha hai, bhaav to dena hi padega." Then back to my hostel. Gave a thoght on this.
The Thought: Basanti tune ye kya kiya. My lord, Basanti I extend my heartiest no thanks to you for such an unkind, non-cooperating, and non-helping behavior. But you are right on your on your part. You come all the way down to kanpur from delhi traveling in general class class compartment. Then your fashion event in the night. Your Dramatics event next day from 5. You are so busy. How can you give time? Although you will get a lot of time in between but who am I to you? Are you my sister or mother or a relative to help in accomplishing my passion? Why will anyone help Saucy just like that? Im so stupid to expect like that. But thats Saucy for you madam. Shaken and stirred by every small incident in life. Even things which are worth less than penny may appeal/ hurt me.
First you tell me that you will be subject for me, so that I cancel the without-subject slot at night and then you are are so much reluctant when I ask you latter that if I would ask you any further it would be like torturing you. And Saucy can do any thing save torturing anyone. Thus leaving me in a helpless situation. Sorry basanti. It's not your fault. It's me who always makes things more complicated in his head than they need to be.
Now I am left with one other option which some of my friends adviced : go straight to a girl and ask her for. But I think this wont work. Even if it would have worked I would not have done it. Reasons? Reasons being combined effect of two things- first the fact that in doing so I will not be acting "Just be yourself" which is against my principles. The second reason being my first blog post. So what is the tip for me. Mr. Saucy, this place is not for fashion photography. It is not your cheese. So better cling to the nature photography community.
Clarifications:1) It may appear from above written material that I despise or Im angry on basanti. But the same is not true. I still hold her in high regards. This whole blog is what I observe and that might not depict the reality. To say in Engineering Graphics language, it's a one point perspective and it may not nececcarily show all the actual details of the object. And the Theorem of Appreciation is also applicable here.
